Simplifying Complex Workflows Through User-Centered Design
The Road Maintenance Workflow Platform gives Singapore's Land Transport Authority and its maintenance contractors a shared system to issue, track, and close out road-asset maintenance work — from defect report to KPI-verified completion. Spanning Preventive, Corrective, and ad-hoc work streams, the platform had to serve two very different users — LTA officers overseeing compliance and contractors executing fieldwork — while keeping every Work Instruction's status, ownership, and urgency legible against strict KPI timelines.
My UX Contribution
- Designed the end-to-end workflow architecture for the Work Instruction lifecycle, mapping how a defect moves from report → assignment → execution → KPI verification → closure across both LTA and contractor views
- Simplified contract and WI creation by breaking dense compliance forms into a guided, step-by-step flow — reducing setup errors and cognitive load for officers
- Built a dashboard and status system that surfaces KPI risk and job urgency at a glance, helping teams prioritize time-sensitive repairs without digging through records
